Being Mama

Cutest thing ever.

On a day that people celebrate Mothers’Day, I think about two small little kiddos who’ve made me a mother. They entered my life & turned it inside out, upside down, for better & for worse. But with each passing day of being their Mama, I realise motherhood isn’t about me making them who I want them to be, rather, its God making me who He wants me to be. That’s right. I don’t know if I’ve made a difference to their lives by being a sahm. There are days when I doubt it. But one thing for sure. I know they have changed me into a better person. They’ve made me a Mama, & it’s good enough for me.

As I lie down next to my firstborn before she sleeps, she will talk through her day, sing songs she has learnt, and chatter chatter chatter. These past 2 nights, in…

Abercrombie and Fitch CEO: Proof Monsters Really Do Exist

Written by Emily

You’ve heard about Michael Jeffries, the 68-year old face behind Abercrombie and Fitch? He is the “brain” behind the idea to remove size XL from the women’s section of the store and only sell up to size 10. However, his reasons are sincere and honest. He only wants cool, skinny, beautiful kids to shop at AF. Oh. Okay.

Before you momcott AF and burn their clothes in effigy*, let’s think this through. I’m sure the Board of Directors only agreed to this asinine idea because Jefferies’s latest round of plastic surgery affected the part of his brain that acts as a moral compass. They’re trying to be compassionate and sensitive to the weirdo in the room.

That’s probably why they gave the go-ahead to these t-shirt messages:

because Jeffries’s other suggestions like:

Between Us: An Open Letter to the Disney Channel

Life Inspired

No More Disney Channel copy

Dear Disney Channel Executives,

My daughter Journey has recently become a fan of the Disney Channel.  She just turned 7, she has officially outgrown Nick Jr. and since Nick seems to show SpongeBob all day, she has moved over to the Disney channel.  At first, she was pretty much only watching Phineas and Ferb.  Eventually, she started watching the rest of the line up including Good Luck Charlie, Austin and Ally, Shake It Up and Jessie.

Eating Disorder Blog

EDNOS (or Eating Disorders Not otherwise Specified) make up 70% of eating disorder cases. Eating Disorders aren’t very pretty or easy to put in a box. Not everyone is anorexic or bulimic, yet they suffer from raging eating disorders. Some dangerous examples of EDNOS I’ve seen are: Rumination, someone vomits up a very small amount of food and chews on it for hours. This would be an example of EDNOS. An overweight woman goes on a 200-300 calorie per day diet and loses 50 pounds in a months time. She is still overweight and still has her period, so she cannot be diagnosed as anorexic. She would be an example of someone with EDNOS. Most cases of EDNOS should be treated in the same way as current treatment for anorexia and bulimia.

honey I'm a lesbian

I have few words for today.

I am so busy and my mind has gone astray

I blog and yearn and hope to find

my lost words, lost hopes and lost mind

I stretch my fingers over my keyboard

uttering words that echo my world

In hopes that one day I will be inspired

to touch, caress that which I desire

soft lips, big dreams a wet canvas of reality

where life is in color, so vibrantly

I’ll stretch my wings and fly so free

off to a world where I can be me.
